Breedr is a digital livestock platform designed to connect the beef supply chain and unlock value for producers. It allows breeders, backgrounders, and finishers to capture real-time animal data, track performance, and share verified information with buyers and processors. By linking genetics, on-farm management, and carcase outcomes, Breedr helps producers make better breeding decisions, access premium markets, and build trust with end-consumers.

In this seminar, Justin Sherrard and Jessica Frankel introduced SPI members to Breedr’s capabilities and explained how it can support Speckle Park breeders and commercial producers. They highlighted how Breedr integrates with carcase feedback systems, streamlines compliance and record-keeping and creates opportunities for SPI members to participate in supply chains that reward data transparency, sustainability and eating quality.

Roger has scanned for many of the leading Speckle Park studs along the eastern seaboard since the early days of the breed and has eagerly watched the breeds progression. Roger is a big advocate for data through performance recording, in the form of raw data and in EBV’s/genomics, but understands breeding is a balanced approach with many contributing factors being considered.
